I updated the code to OJS 2.4.8 and completed the configuration for making that configuration optional and enabled in config.inc.php, so actually it is possible to put the code in the official OJS release and let it disabled since it is not a desired feature.

I am wondering if I can make a PR of that code Ubiquity and slightly improved by me.
