Hello,
When checking the submissions folder, I realized I almost got a defaced site. After checking the .phtml files, and trying to run them from a VM, it is apparent that the links the .phtml files referred to are dead, and much of the code is rendered obsolete (also a few typos here and there), so that’s probably why the attempts didn’t work.
So the site survived. But now I don’t know about the integrity of everything. There might be backdoors.
Asmecher have frequently suggested that victims of defacing should revert to the original .tar.gz OJS code. I am willing to do this, but currently there are several submissions in review, and coordinating everyone doesn’t seem good at the moment.
What solutions do I have, so that the .tar.gz file can be reuploaded, but credentials and the processes stay the same? The databases don’t seem affected by the attempt.
Also, at the moment I couldn’t yet upgrade to OJS 3.x, because of bureaucracy.
Thank you for your kind help.

I recently moved my OJS installation to a public server. These are the steps I took.
- Fresh installation of OJS
- Transferred database from local to public
- Copied local uploads folder to public server
I then manually replaced missing logo image and cover pic for a published issue. But when clicking on a article within the published issue, I get an an error. And I’m not sure what it means exactly. The column do exist in the submission table.

Since we know that Victorian era basically present some features such as virtue, strength, thrift, manners, cleanliness, honesty and chastity. These are the morals that Victorian people used to hold with high esteem. In this novel <em>Great</em> <em>Expectations</em>, Dickens has created some Victorian characters whom we have seen both in good working way or not at all. But the protagonist named Pip was dynamic and he went through some several changes and dealt with different and significant moral issues. Somehow Pip left behind all the values he was raised with. Because Miss Havisham and Estella have corrupted Pip with rich life. Greed, beauty and arrogance were his ingredient of immoral life. The other characters like Joe and Biddy were static characters throughout the entire novel and became noticeable to be the manifestation of what we call as ideal Victorians. The main heroin of this novel was Estella with whom Pip thought he had some love connection. Hence, Estella has been presented as a good in the sense of potentiality and turned morally bad. Miss Havisham, who was basically a corrupt woman and she engraved the center of the novel.<em> Great Expectations</em> did disclose how was the situation of Victorian society through some important features such as higher class, corrupted judicial system between rural and urban England. Here in this novel, Dickens was concern about the education system in Victorian era where the lower class people get less opportunities of getting proper education. From the beginning to the end of this novel, Dickens explored some significant issues regarding higher and lower class system of Victorian society which did fluctuate from the greatest woeful criminal named Magwitch to the needy people of the swamp country, where Joe and Biddy were the symbol of that regime. After that we can proceed to the middle class family where Pumblechook was the person to represent that regime. Last but not the least Miss Havisham symbolized and bear flag of very rich and sophisticated Victorian woman who has represented the higher class society in the novel <em>Great Expectations.</em> Hence we can say <em>Great Expectations </em>has talked and displayed the class system of Victorian England and the characters of this novel therefore also did uphold the true reflection of Victorian era.</p>2018-07-31T00:00:00+08:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##

I have a user on my journal site who is getting a 403 error returned to them when they try to update their account or submit an article. Basically whenever they try to submit a form. I had to create the account for her, and I am able to log in to her account on my machine and everything works fine. I’ve checked with the hosting company and there are no restrictions on her IP address.
Any idea what might be happening here?

Hi, I apologize if this has already been addressed but my search has not yielded any results. This site was recently upgraded from OJS 2.4.8.3 to OJS 3.1.1.2. Upon my first attempt at publishing a new article after the upgrade, I noticed that the PDF button in the Table of Content does not show up on the newly published.
If I click on the article, I can see the PDF link and am able to successfully view it. I can also see the PDF links in the TOC for articles that were published in OJS 2.4.8.3.
Can you please point me in the right direction in order to help resolve this issue?
The website is: https://www.rhime.in/ojs/index.php/rhime
and the article in question is towards the bottom of this page with the title “Creative writing is a way of learning in medicine: Ananth’s story”. This is the only article without a PDF link.I have tried the following with no success:
- Re-upload the PDF file in the Galley.
Thank you for your help.

And on the folder of the conference (/ocs/files/conferences/3/schedConfs/15/papers) I can found the files. How can I fix that? I can’t assign papers to reviews in this way.

Hello PKP and thanks for all your fantastic work on OJS 3!
I have a few suggestions for the Hosted Journals list display. As an instance with 50+ journals, this list can get quite unruly, here are a few things that would help with our day to day management:
- Add a column that would show at a glance whether the journal is public or not - right now it takes opening the “Edit” settings of each journal to find out
- Add an option to automatically sort the list alphabetically by title
- Add a count of hosted journals (I believe it showed the count in OJS 2)
- Add a one-click option to open the journals’ front-end site rather than going through the back-end settings
Thank you for considering!

OJS in version OJS 3.0.2.0 has been in operation for about 2 years. There are some hundred articles there and the problem first appeared. When adding a pdf file in Production, something went wrong, because now you go to the Production tab you can see Loading all the time (as on the screenshot).
It is not the fault of the computer or the browser - it has been tested on many different and there is always a message about loading. Clearing Cache OJS does not help. How can this be somehow fixed / reset?

Há alguma sugestão do que pode ser feito?

What’s the best way to enter an article number instead of page numbers for an article, e.g. (number) “a107” instead of (page) 31-45. Use the field “pages” anyhow? However, this might lead to confusion in citation or export formats, so I would prefer a separated field for the article number, but this doesn’t seem to exist in OJS at the moment.
As a solution for OJS 2.x the “public identifier” was mentioned, but that’s not what I want, because if you enter a “Public URL identifier” in the metadata of an article in OJS 3 the URL of the article will be changed.

I want to export articles from a journal in OJS 3.0.2, but only a fraction of the articles from the journal are shown in the export. I can’t determine why this is the case. Some of the missing articles are “archived” (Declined), some are still “Active” (in diffent kind of stages of the publication process). But there are also declined / active articles shown in the export.
We tried to update from OJS 3.0.2 to OJS 3.1, but encountered several problems during the update process. So I want to export the articles and import them to a “fresh” OJS 3.1 manually.
