Please help. Reviewer invitation mails blocked

Example is from gmail but I see that some other institutions’ servers also blocks our mails.

I have tried to use another way to send mail by using “Use SMTP for sending mail instead of mail()” option given in OJS. However, I have failed to do so. I give some of the error_log file content when I failed to sent emails below. I did not understand anything from it but it may help ones with more knowledge.

Please someone help me to get this problem over. I have to prevent our emails to be blocked when using the default way with OJS or figure out how to send emails with “Use SMTP for sending mail instead of mail()”. May be both.

when I dig the matter more I see that the relevant part in error log is:
[01-Mar-2019 16:37:10 Europe/Istanbul] SMTP connect() failed. when I tried to use SMTP. I examined many things on the net and see that it is beyond my understanding. I do not know how to solve this issue.

I have searched many pages in net and in this forum. Somebody seems to solve their problem but I cannot retreace it as there is not deatiled information on how to do.

I hope someone can guide me.

Error_log is deleted as it looks mostly irrelevant.

Installing the new 3.1.2 issue

Last step of submission needs loading indicator, OJS3

This could lead to user leaving the page or clicking back button before the submission is complete. I don’t know if this can cause truncated or otherwise damaged submission.

Saving metadata does not close the modal window, OJS3

Unable to finish submission, blank page on Confirmation step

Hello,

we are new users of OJS and have OJS 3.1.1.4 installed. During trial period, we have successfully finished a submission dummy, but now that we are trying to get authors to submit, they are unable to finish their submission. After entering metadata, they are stuck on the Confirmation step with a blank page.

I tried to submit to the same journal but was met with the same blank page on that step. Then, I tried to submit on another journal within the same system and it’s fine and I could finish the submission.

I have tried changing the Submission Metadata settings, unchecking ‘required’ from the Keywords field (I get this from another question in the forum).

Piwik support when updating on OJS 3.1.2

Displaying the Creative Commons Problem in OJS 3.1.1.4

What is wrong with the links in only one journal - 3.1.1-4?

We are backtracking from OJS3 to OJS2 and will look for other submission system

  1. No article id is displayed.
  2. Coauthors are not copied in emails.
  3. There is no clarity that emails are actually sent. Apparently, authors only receive notifications and not proper emails.
  4. When inside a submission, you lose sight of the article section that manuscript was submitted to.
  5. The system does not id uploaded files.
  6. Authors cannot upload more files after submission (possible and desirable in OJS2).
  7. No unsubmit option.
  8. No send to draft option.
  9. When creating a user, no confirmation that user was actually created.
  10. And a long list of horrible, horrible problems.

I posted at least two requested features and no answer from PKP.

Editor of one journal asked me to put information for reviewers there. I created static page that has path : for-reviewers and I addedd the following code in block.tpl:

After that I added in locale en-US of plugin the following key:
For Reviewers
and also in locale of other language that is being used in that installation of OJS
translated text of For Reviewers
and it worked well.

Now Information block does have For reviewers and when someone click on it the static page with path for-reviewers is displayed.
if someone has got more elegant solution please share.

Submissions- unexpected error
