Hello all,
we’ve noticed that there is a key missing in the en_US locale for OMP.
The key catalog.noTitlesSection, which should be in lib/pkp/locale/en_US/submission.xml does not seem to exist, which leads to the value ##catalog.noTitlesSection## showing in the frontend of our OMP. The key and translations for it appear to exist in all the other language locales. Since the translator plugin does not properly allow editing the English locale, we can only fix this manually in the xml files. Please add this key in the future!
Many thanks!
Pia

For our journal (using OJS-3.1.2), a reviewer had accidentally submitted an incomplete review and asked for a way to update it.
I’ve looked around, but couldn’t find how to do so:
- when a submitted review is shown in the “Review Details” dialog, all form fields responses are displayed but inactive (i.e. not editable)
- in the database, PhpMyadmin doesn’t allow editing the rows of the
review_form_responses
table, since they don’t contain a unique key columnAdditionally, when trying to find a workaround in the UI, it is not possible to:
- modify a submitted review (see above, listed here for completeness)
- cancel a submitted review
- assign a new review to the same reviewer in the same review round
Unless I’m overlooking anything, I’m at a loss for what seems to be a common problem: post-editing of accidentally submitted reviews. I could understand that it might not be ideal to allow reviewers themselves to edit their reviews after they’ve submitted them, but it would be sensible if the editors could do so. I’ve checked the Github issues but couldn’t find any open issue on this matter.
Currently (again, unless I’m overlooking anything), the only option seems to assign a new reviewer (either by asking the original reviewer to create a new account just for this purpose, or by assigning it to an editor) and redo the review. But I can’t imagine there isn’t a cleaner way?

Trying to upgrade OJS from 3.1.1.2 to 3.1.2.2 (PHP 7.0.29, Apache 2.2.22, mysql 5.5.60).
I update through the command line and get the following error:
PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '?', expecting variable (T_VARIABLE) in ***/lib/pkp/classes/notification/PKPNotificationOperationManager.inc.php on line 373
There are no additional errors in php-error logs, only the same line.
What is the reason and how to solve the update problem?

previously I used OJS.V.3.1.1 without any indexing constraints from Google Scholar, after upgrading OJS.V.3.2.2 a problem arose indexed by Google Scholar and I tried for search engines, articles could still be found (PKP, Google) but google scholar could not find.
In the settings / distribution menu, Google Verification is installed. Does it require different verification codes for each host journal?
due to a security problem in the location of the files folder, the folder I moved to root and I have a problem pdf can not be indexed by Google?
How do I solve this problem?

Hello,
I’m new to OCS and investigating this system for our conference materials.
How can I create a past conference platform? For example, I created the 2015 conference, but there is no date selection “2015” of the first day and last day of the conference. I just can see there are “2018”, “2019”, …, “2021.”
Anyone knows how to set the past conference date and archive the conference materials?
Thank you.

Hi, I have finally managed to activate the DOI plugin on my OMP platform, setting it just like the one we have in OJS (same prefix that had previously been assigned to us, default patterns for monographs). However, none of the DOIs that we have assigned to already-published monographs seem to work. They all take us to a “DOI not found” error page that says:
This DOI cannot be found in the DOI System. Possible reasons are:
- The DOI is incorrect in your source. Search for the item by name, title, or other metadata using a search engine.
- The DOI was copied incorrectly. Check to see that the string includes all the characters before and after the slash and no sentence punctuation marks.
- The DOI has not been activated yet. Please try again later, and report the problem if the error continues.
Any solutions? How am I supposed to activate the DOI? I don’t remember doing anything else for OJS, but I may be missing something.
Thanks everyone
Best regards

I am using OJS 3.1.2-1 under Ubuntu 18.04 bionic with postfix. I’ve tested postfix and it works perfectly. However, when I do a submission, the OJS server notices me that there was a problem sending an email message. I checked the terminal and it shows me
Invalid address: (From): root@localhost
.I’ve tried to switch force_dmarc_compliant_from, force_default_envelope_sender and allow_envelope_sender to “On” and uncomment. But it doesn’t work.
How can I fix it?

Hello to you all.
We have this problem in which our theme is working just fine in our production site, but this site is runing on PHP 5.6, which is outdated.
We want to upgrade to PHP 7, and we had install OJS 3.1.2 with PHP 7.2 in our dev site.
The problem comes in the public site of our dev site. There’s no frontend at all. I have tried like 5 different themes for OJS 3.1.1+ or 3.1+ that I saw in another thread, but none of those are working.
There’s a guide to develop a new theme for OJS 3.1.2+? Or there’s something that we need to know or change for the theme to work?
Thanks in advance.

It seems we cannot upgrade to the latest version of OJS, because it requires a higher php version. We are using Softaculous, and when trying to upgrade, the error says “Required php version 7.1 or higher”. We have 7.0 version. Is it possible that the latest OJS requires 7.1 version? I asked my hosting provider for help, and they said we need to pay a lot more money in order to get 7.1.
