I’m unable to update OJS 3.2.1.4 to 3.3.0.7.
I found this error
ERROR: Upgrade failed: DB: SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1142 REFERENCES command denied to user ‘myuser’@‘localhost’ for table ‘files’ (SQL: alter table submission_files add constraint submission_files_file_id_foreign foreign key (file_id) references files (file_id))

When running the upgrade script it fails with this error
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught PDOException: SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1062 Duplicate entry ‘285-it_IT-preferredPublicName’ for key ‘author_settings_pkey’
The author_settings table seems to be updated quite a lot by this script.

when i try to upload logo, everything is ok. But when i refresh the page, there is an error like above. And image doesnt appear. Can someone help me about that?

due to hacking attacks from Indonesia I want to update from OJS 3.2.1.4 to OJS 3.3.0.7.
I would prefer to export the articles and import them into a completely new installation, because then I can be sure that there is no backdoor lurking anywhere.
Unfortunately the export function (native xml) does not work and shows a blank page.
I can’t update it because the SharedHosting server says it won’t let me upload tar.gz. Directly overwriting the plugin files didn’t work either.
With the update it unfortunately smashes the umlauts (ü->ü ). The database old is on “latin1_swedish_ci” and if I install the update or copy the data into a new database then the umlauts are lost. 
I tried to install the plugin update on a specially set up XAMPP (Windows 10, XAMPP 7.4.1) but it was missing the tar extension. So unfortunately that didn’t work either.
Is there another trick to get the export function for articles and issues to work when you don’t have the option to upload tar.gz? Do the IDs of the articles remain during the export-import?

Hi guys,
I am using OJS 3.3.0.5. but when I try to upload journal thumbnail, logo, or header I get the following message:
“One or more files could not be uploaded.”
A screenshot:
This happens to all my journals when I try to upload a logo, thumbnail, or header from Website>>Appearance>>Setup
Please advise me if you have a solution.

Hi, I’m trying to upgrade OJS to version 3.3.0.6, but I receive this message in the console

Hello all,
I just purchased a lifetime use of Ultdata. I recently accidentally deleted my “Notes” from my Iphone X, but I did have everything backed up on my Windows 10 PC using Itunes.
So I ran Ultdata, which did locate the missing “notes” in my Itunes backup. BUT when I went to “Recover” the notes to my Iphone, all the program would allow me to do was to recover them to my Windows PC and not directly to the Iphone.
I saw where previous versions of the software did indeed allow the user to recover directly to an Iphone.
Bad news on the part of Tenorshare. Apparently they removed this ability on the newer versions of their program.
So my question is how to I recover the “Notes” that are now on my PC, back to the Iphone??? Do I need a third party software?
If so, Tenorshare should be ashamed of themselves.
Can someone please provide an update?

I wanted to intall two plugins, paperbuzz and sword plugin.
I could not find the sword plugin in the plugin gallery since the github instruction recommended installing via the gallery i have not installed manually.
I’m using OJS 3.3.0.7 is the plugin not compatible with the newest version?
The problem that i have with paperbuzz plugin is completely different. My university wanted to use paperbuzz but we use another registration agency, Datacite Fabrica.
Is it still possible to use paperbuzz or is crossref essencial in order to use it?

Hi,
I want to update my OJS version from 2.4.8.4 to 3.3.0.7, but i’m facing some error after the upgrade installation finish.
First i already set installed = On
So I can access the OJS for upgrading process until this page
But once I click on “Upgrade Open Journal Systems”, it shown HTTP ERROR 500
PHP versions on server i’ll already set it up to PHP 7.3, database connection in config.php was right. But i cannot upgrade the current OJS version to the latest version

I don’t know how to fix these issues. Previously the submissions worked, but I hadn’t tried in a couple of months before this happened. I tried updating the site to the newest version twice, but it broke my site each time and I had to get it restored by my hosting company. I don’t know if that is a factor.

Hello everyone,
Months ago, I setup a new instance of our OJS site as we had a corrupted database that would not function at all. Following assistance from numerous community members, we are up and running and working to restore individual article access to each of our published journals.
That being said, we are attempting to use the Quick Submit plugin on our OJS instance and are unable to select any PDF on the step for ‘Submission Galley’. We are able to input all other information without any hangups or error messages at all, however when we create a new Galley for the Quick Submit, regardless of selection for Published or Unpublished, it will not let us select a file to upload to the galley.

I tried this code but i still have a lot of space not being used.

When I tried to import xml file, Error produced. Looks like the plugin unable to import xml file of my articles. I’m using OJS 3.3.0-7
Also, I deleted the plugin but cannot find anywhere how to reinstall. @asmecher

We are starting a journal by installing OJS in version 3.2.1.4
However when trying to install a plugin (ex. Quicksubmit) the error appears:
“The “exec” PHP function has been disabled on your server. Contact your system adminstrator to enable it.”
So we installed this plugin manually and apparently it worked. But I read here on the Forum that manual installation is not advised.
Our host’s support says that the PHP ‘exec’ function is disabled for security reasons and suggests using the Phardata library.
I found a post that deals with this, but apparently there are dozens of changes:
And here it is said that OJS version 3.4 will solve this problem:
We request more information to help us make the best decision(?):
-Wait for version 3.4
-Continue installing Plugins manually
-Try to make code changes to be able to install and update Plugins
-Install version 3.3 (would it solve?)
