Hello
I know this error has been discussed before. When adding newith w articles whether with Quick Submit plugin or through default way. I get this error whenever
I add any contributor
I add any galley
and also I get this error at many places. I installed a fresh piece of OJS 3.2.1.4
My question is why this error comes. What can be the possible reasons?
I tried to edit config file but didn’t worked. Please help. I am fed up of this error. I have to add multiple articles manually but lag behind due to this error.
I am using Php 7.2. Can this be the reason?
Where as I am managing around 5 websites on OJS but never received this error.

Hi, I’ve replicated this error in two instances of OJS, running 3.2.1.1 and 3.3.0.2. respectively. Trying to upload an image in the About the Journal section using the text editor but it returns pop-up error message:
The public files directory was not found or files can not be saved to it. Please contact your administrator to resolve this issue.
This occurred in both journals before and after installing, enabling, and configuring the Text Editor Extras plugin. I also installed, enabled, and configured the Control Public Files plugin in the instance running 3.3.0.2 and that did not make a difference.
I’m reporting it here in case this is something that could/should work in OJS out of the box and not just something wrong with our own configuration (I’m going to contact my IT team in case it’s a local configuration issue).

OJS 3.1.2.4
We encountered a very strange issue with Editorial Activity Statistics (Statistics > Editorial) in one of our journals. I wonder if anyone has experienced the same or has any insight into the issue. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
We looked at the editorial activity data for 2020 (period from 2020-01-01 to 2021-01-01) on the following three dates (Jan 29, Feb 9 and Feb 16, 2021). The stats looked different on each date (please see attached image comparing the collected data see by side). Where the data mostly varied was percentage calculations.
For example, Post-Review Rejection Rate changed in each case while the underlying totals used to calculate it remained unchanged – Received submissions (650) and Submission Declined (Pos-Review) (201). Additionally, there seems to be an error in calculating the percentage, which should be 30.92%.
Unfortunately PKP Documentation on Editorial Activity Statistics (Statistics) doesn’t provide any in-depth description about calculations logic. Hoping the community wisdom will shed some light on this. Thanks.

I’ve inherited this ojs website which is running ojs 2.4.5.0 atm and yes I will upgrade when I get time. In the meantime, I’ve put a load balancer in front of the website which I hoped would manage the ssl for the site while the apache backend is all port 80. the load balancer redirects all traffic from port 80 to port 443.
This seems to work until someone goes to log in to the journal. when they log in the site redirects to http version of the site and causes an error ‘The connection was reset’ in firefox. If I then manually change the address from http to https the page continues to work and I am logged in. when I log out i get the same error and have to change the address again from http to https.
so my question is, how do I get my site to handle the login nicely by displaying the https:// of the login page?

Hey there,
After installing the new version OJS 3.3.0.3 and removing index.php from URL the administrator access was lost. In the url I have path /user/authorizationDenied?message=user.authorization.accessDenied
In the OJS version 3.2.1.4 I did not have this bug. Can you advise how can I fix it?
Thanks!

we are facing the following problems with emails:
Emails sent through OJS are blocked by the spam filter, because the sending server uses the same domain as the reciever. Our IT deparment says »Ideally the mail Header->From doesn’t use our own domain, because this is classically classified as spam«.
Since I’m no pro with mail servers and configurations on this topic: What could I change on our OJS configuration, that the mails make it through the spam filters?
Thanks,
Tobias

Dear Team;
I am planning to change the domain name (from .in to .org) of my journal installation with the next update (OJS 3.3.0-4). Right now I am assessing the impact of domain change on various services in use. Can you please let me know how would it impact the PKP PN archiving. Do I just need to change the domain and redeposit or contact someone to update the URL of journals in PKP PN data?
Kindly assist regarding any required prework for PKP PN setting update to avoid any mess up as a result of domain change.
Thanks & Regards

On OJS 3.3 there is this sign in page that offers the roles of Reader and Reviewer, but no Author. Why is that?

Dear Team,
I have been experimenting with the Categories-function in OJS3 - more specifically OJS 3.2.1.1 - to see what the possibilities are in creating a Curated Collections/Special Collections page similar to that of Cultural Anthropology on the website of our journal. I noticed that after creating a category, an extra section appears in the Submit an Article-page, as seen in the following screenshot:
This enables authors to already categorize articles themselves before an article is even accepted, let alone published. However, we would like to only give journal editors the option of categorizing articles and of building curated collections. How can we remove this option of selecting a category from the Submit an Article-page?

*** Application Version -** OJS 3.3.0.2
*** Description of issue:** I installed a new Journal and can’t install ANY plugin, as server shows the error message above.
*** Steps you took leading up to the issue**: just going to plugins page and tried to install them
*** What you tried to resolve the issue**: I talked to the server admin. They said for security reasons are disabling some functions, like “exec”. They are asking us to move to a VPS managed by the user, so, that way we could adjust that, but it would be necessary Server Admins skills. We are paying a VPS, so we have access to the root, but some directives are being imposed by them.
They also recommend to change the application, to not force the usage of that function “exec”. Is there any workaround to install new plugins without using the “exec” function? For example, if I copy the plugin into the correct folder and force an update in the OJS, does the system will install the plugin correctly?
Thanks
